What is Nanotechnology?

Introduction: Imagine the tip of a pencil containing millions of atoms, how small could that be? The atoms are so small that it is impossible to see with one’s naked eyes; thus they are view under microscopes but how can one tell how small or big it is under the microscope? It is the scale of nanometers, that’s 10-9 nanometers in one meter. So what exactly is nanotechnology? The simple answer is technology at the level of nanometers, equivalent to millionth of a millimeter! The purpose of this paper is to discuss issues regarding social, ethical, security, legal, and benefits of nanotechnology. By scientifically and electronically storing information to something so small such of miniature chip to do many futuristic performances, social, ethical, security, and legal issues will be discus among people once launch will all be mention later. Nanotechnology is rapidly growing and becoming the most powerful technology for benefits in the future. Though it’s very small, this so called nanotechnology performs its function more efficient than other technologies. It is amazing how such miniature chip, smart card, etc. can hold thousands and thousands of information. Such beneficial revolution of science is worth making headlines but at the same time, it touches the issues regarding ethical, social, security and legal concerns for the public.
